The Frances Newton Hosptial and the School of Nursing is a Unit of Health Service and Education serving area in and around Ferozepur since many decades. The hosptial was established in 1894 and the School of Nursing started in 1921. This organization is under Synodical Board of Health Services, a part of church in North India, called Healing Ministry Wing.

The School of Nursing offers General Nursing Diploma course recognised by United Boards of Examiners for Mission Hosptials and later on, it was affiliated to Mid-India Board in1932, this was recognised and got affiliated to Punjab Nurses Registration Council, Lahore, post partition. The Punjab Nurses Registration Council was shifted to Punjab, India nd Indian Nursing Council in 1929, Midwifery was added to General Nursing Diploma in1955, Auxillary Nurses Training (ANM) was started but discontinue in 1978 and restarted in the year 2000.

As per Indian Nursing Council the code for General Nursing and Midwifery is 2602007 and ANM (MPHHVV) is 2601030 under ref certificate no. 18-15/2000-INC. Frances Newton Hosptial is a 250 bedded hosptial with surgical ICU, Medical ICU, Intensive Cardiac CareUnit ICCU , Renal Dialysis Unit (RDU), Operation Theatre (OT) Labour Room etc.
